It’s been a very busy first 6 months at SM9 Fitness, so there’s plenty to talk about. We have weddings, anniversaries, gym socials and sporting success to mention. So here goes…..
Firstly, congratulations again to Zack Davies who extended his boxing record to 8-1 beating Lee Connelly at Brangwyn Hall, Swansea, on the 13th of May. It was a very convincing win for the 25 year old who seemed to always be in control of the fight. We look forward to seeing Zack progress further in the near future. It was also a very exciting end to the Rugby season. Particularly for Will Boyde, Steffan Evans and Ryan Elias who got their hands on the Guinness Pro12 Trophy. What an achievement for three very young men who seemed to have matured beyond their years in the 2016/17 season at the Scarlets. But the success didn’t stop there, as both Ryan and Steffan received their first full International Welsh caps against Tonga on the summer tour. They also received a second cap against Samoa alongside Rhodri Jones, who extended his cap count to 15.
During the summer, SM9 Fitness celebrated its 3rd year anniversary with a trip to Ffos las ladies day on the 25th of August. It was a great day out, and we look forward to celebrating our Christmas Social on the 9th of December at Diablos on the Quay. So far we are at maximum capacity for this social, but any old/new members are welcome to join us for our festive celebration. Please get in touch if interested. There were also celebrations outside the gym, seeing our first SM9 couple tie the knot. Congratulations to Neil and Jude Davies who got married on the 2nd of September. Both trained extremely hard leading up to their big day.
Final mentions go the following who took part in this year’s Cardiff half marathon, Botanic gardens 10k run and the Amsterdam Marathon. Well done to Aled ‘Butty’ Thomas, Rhiannon Headlam, Lois Thomas, Tereasa Thomas, Lukey Davies and Sophie Thomas for the Cardiff half. Wayne Morgan, Macs Morgan, Lee Davies, Nicky James, Melanie Davies, Ffion Jones and Nicola Davies all completed the 10k run. And a special mention to Jenny Jones who ran the Amsterdam marathon on October 15th. A superb achievement that you can all say you have completed. Well done!!
